During the application process, you will:

  • Enter a qualifying project management certification or Master’s degree, with a concentration in Project or Program Management from an accredited college or university

  • Once your application is accepted, you’ll be able to schedule your exam. You’ll receive an email outlining next steps.

  • Time: You’ll have 120 minutes to complete the exam.

Hold one of the following certifications, active and in good standing:

  • PMI CAPM®, PMP®, PgMP®, or PfMP®

  • AACEI CCP

  • APM PMQ, PPQ, or ChPP

  • APM PMQ, PPQ, or ChPP

  • IPMA Level D, C, B, or A

  • PRINCE2 Project Manager Practitioner, Programme Manager Practitioner, or Portfolio Manager Practitioner

OR

  • Master’s degree, with a concentration in Project or Program Management from an accredited college or university

12 hours of formal education related to Sustainability in Project Management

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior AI or project management experience to enroll?

No. The PMI-CPMAI has no prior experience or certification requirements. However, familiarity with project management fundamentals and basic AI concepts is an advantage.

How is this course structured?

The program consists of two components: PMI’s official 21-hour self-paced online course, which you complete at your own pace, and Skillet’s 1-day instructor-led exam prep session designed to reinforce key concepts and prepare you for the exam.

How long do I have to complete the course and sit for the exam?

You have 90 days to complete the self-paced course. Once completed, you have 1 year from the date of purchase to pass the exam.

How many attempts do I get for the exam?

Your first exam attempt is included in the bundle. If you do not pass, PMI allows up to 2 additional attempts within your 1-year eligibility period at an additional cost.

Where do I sit for the exam?

The exam is available at Pearson VUE test centers (recommended) or online via Pearson VUE’s OnVUE proctored platform.

Will I get certified after completing the course?

Completing the course makes you eligible to sit for the exam. You will receive the PMI-CPMAI certification upon passing the exam.

How do I maintain my certification?

You are required to earn 30 PDUs every 3 years to maintain your PMI-CPMAI certification.
