The PMI Certified Professional in Managing AI (PMI-CPMAI)™ is a globally recognized certification developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI) for professionals looking to lead and manage AI-driven projects using a structured, proven methodology.
Built around the Cognitive Project Management for AI (CPMAI) framework, this program covers the full AI project lifecycle across six phases: Matching AI with Business Needs, Identifying Data Needs, Managing Data Preparation, Iterating Development and Delivery, Testing and Evaluating AI Systems, and Operationalizing AI.
This program is ideal for project managers, business professionals, technologists, and consultants who work alongside or lead AI initiatives. No prior AI or technical background is required, though familiarity with project management fundamentals is an advantage.
Skillet’s exam prep package combines PMI’s official 21-hour self-paced online course with a 1-day instructor-led session. The self-paced course must be completed within 90 days, after which you will be eligible to schedule your exam
Upon completing the course, you will earn 21 PDUs applicable toward other PMI certification renewals, broken down as follows: 7 PDUs in Business Acumen, 11 PDUs in Ways of Working, and 3 PDUs in Power Skills. For existing PMP holders, these 21 PDUs cover more than one-third of the PDUs required for renewal and can fully satisfy the Education PDU requirement for CAPM.

The program consists of two components: PMI’s official 21-hour self-paced online course, which you complete at your own pace, and Skillet’s 1-day instructor-led exam prep session designed to reinforce key concepts and prepare you for the exam.
You have 90 days to complete the self-paced course. Once completed, you have 1 year from the date of purchase to pass the exam.
Your first exam attempt is included in the bundle. If you do not pass, PMI allows up to 2 additional attempts within your 1-year eligibility period at an additional cost.
The exam is available at Pearson VUE test centers (recommended) or online via Pearson VUE’s OnVUE proctored platform.
Completing the course makes you eligible to sit for the exam. You will receive the PMI-CPMAI certification upon passing the exam.
You are required to earn 30 PDUs every 3 years to maintain your PMI-CPMAI certification.
